So, what's the significance of 485 processing dates? Say, if my PD is June 2001 EB3 and my 485 got applied in Aug, 2007 what are the chances that my 485 will be touched if the visa bulletin were to move to June but the processing dates were to be in July 2007?

Did you verified with Attorney? If they offer you permanent employment I think they should file your I-140, then only they can transfer H1. In that case if you get I-140 approval then move to the permanent employment else stick with your company. ( Think of EB2 and Priority date transfer also).

Let us boycott CNN to protest the unjust presentation of immigrants in their news. I can't comprehend why a big and reputable network would support a show like Lou Dobbs. Lou dobbs and his minions has been spreading lies and hate about legal immigration. The sad part is that the ordinary American would believe them since they are part of a big network, CNN -- supposedly a moral and ethical news company driven to tell the truth and expose injustice. Everyday we try hard to be a good citizen, build a good reputation, and work hard for the betterment of this country but everyday too, Lou Dobbs and his panel of experts ruins everything that we have gained. We cannot ignore this negative publicity anymore. I used to watched CNN ASIA and truly believe that they were the best international network -- they were fair and unbiased in their reporting. But CNN US seems to be a different animal, their seems to be an underlying current of hate hiding and pretending to be patriotic. So, I would like to ask IV core to add this to IV's strategy. Let us spread the word that CNN/Lou Dobbs is anti-immigrant and should not be patronized. Tell your friends and family and let them spread the word. We should also boycott all CNN-related companies i.e Time, CNN ASIA, etc. since they are part of the same animal. We should start being vigilant and fight back on things that are hurtful to us but in a peaceful way.

Basic purpose of our forum is to create awareness/educate legal Immigrants so that they can get help for there cause at the same time we get some help from them to push forward this movement. Recently we are seeing big inflow of queries because economy is bad our brother and sisters getting in deep trouble.
How we can voice our concern in this bad time key is to find the solution.
My thoughts on this................
1) Get the help from our Indian/Chinese community on all levels like city, state and national level.
2) We will run advertisement campaign about, who we are and where we stand. This adv. could be air on Lue's show or even on other popular shows...
3) We need lobbying in congress .I know we have this in this place but we can show our strength through legal Indian/Chinese Immigrant plus Indian/Chinese American citizen then we got big weight in our plate.
4) To get all of the above and may be more we need Money and Man power to execute this.
How we can voice our concern in this bad time key is to find the solution.

Using AP does not change one's immigration status. It is just a travel document. You will continue to maintain your H1-B even if you use the AP to re-enter.
Using AP has no relation to using EAD. I have confirmed this with my attorney as well.

To work in H1B status, you will either need to enter in H1 status, or adjust your status to that of H1B. Dont make a wrong move and start accuring time for working without authorization. work without authorization is grounds for deporting.
