Hello everyone,
I went online to check the status of my I-485 and it displayed me the following message
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Document mailed to applicant.
On December 19, 2007 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service.
What does it mean? Does it mean that I-485 is approved.
Pls guide.

This isn't exactly the Flashmove forums, but you are welcome to stay :) I'm looking into the Swift 3D V.2, and it seems like a good program. If it supports the 3D-ing of images, and better export size than Swift 3D v.1, I'll be glad to give it a shot. I bought Swift 3D v.1 when it came out a long time ago, but I hope to upgrade to V2 when it comes out. Good Luck with the release!

Polk1848: Stop patronizing us. Your condescending attitude won't go far on this forum. Each one of IV member is a quintessential American in the making. We understand the American dream far better then many born American citizen, who think everybody else owe them something just because they were born in USA. We, on the other hand are living and moving towards the classic American dream. A good start will be to join us in our cause instead of demanding we oppose Hispanics or undocumented immigrants.
I appreciate your clarity of thought and very good sense of direction. Many of us seem to have lost that and are directionless now. Keep it up!!

Why are you so worried before even knowing whether your company is a TARP receiver or not?
BTW, if you entered on AP and still work for the same employer, then you are not on EAD. Also, you have no issues extending your H1.

It should not be an issue. I know several people who have done this on a regular basis.
You can re-enter the country with an unexpired H1 visa stamp and by showing the new I-797. Change of employers does not invalidate a H1 visa stamp.

As per my attorney it should be during the time of 140 you have to apply along with a copy of old PD.
Now I am not sure.

I could find this useful. I am in my 6th year expiring June 1, 2007. My employers are just about to file LC, so I guess being able to process I140 by premium will enable me file for a three year extension before my current stay expires.

When you are switching employer with AC21 using H1B you can get a transfer to the new company for 3 years and get extensions from the new employer when that 3 year expires. So no worries... Enjoy
If your H1-B extensions are based off your I-140 and if you make the transfer to new company and for some reason the old employer revokes your I-140. I have no idea what implications would it have on your H1-B extensions ???:(

My brother moved jobs early last year. He filed AC21 and got an RFE immediately.
The move was parallel in job function and the pay was good.
They replied to the RFE and then never heard back. In these economic times, USCIS
is scrutinizing every doc that gets filed.

Mine was reject due to "missing or incorrect fee" refiled on Oct 12, waiting. Strange part is we dont have any evidence of the original check. That makes it complicated..

Boy, you cant wait for EAD ...:) I don't blame ya for that, I think in case of July 2nd you should count from the date when your check gets cashed. In case of July filers we should not be surprised if EADs and APs take more than 6 months being on cynical side.

looks like the no. of applications are less compared to initial projections. the 300,000 include june, july, aug filers including spouses, kids. also seems the number includes 140 applications, ead, ap.. can't believe if it can be that less including all the above mentioned....

My lawyer is saying you need a valid reason to apply. My wife wants to visit India when i asked he said you cannot apply AP for visiting purpose, you need a valid reason to apply and a letter or wedding invitation to apply.

What is sh.... lawyer.. You only need a valid reason for expediting your AP application. For regular applications, they don't even have a column asking for any valid reason.
Assuming you are applying based on your pending Employment based I-485.
