It's sad that we live in a society where actors, pop/rap stars, sports stars, etc. get paid mega bucks while professions like "school teacher" get paid peanuts.
I agree, it is sad. But it is simple economics i'm afraid.
There is only one Tom Cruise or Jay-Z, so the supply of the 'talents' they bring to any project is massively small against a seemingly large demand, hence a huge fee is commanded.
Mr X the Schoolteacher, however, has no such bargaining power as there's a relatively large supply of people who could do the job.

They do. It's called iPhone SDK Essential Training. It's a couple years old but may still be worthwhile for beginners.

Only issue I want fixed is wifi. Disconnects a lot.
Do you have multiple iOS devices in the house? Or ones that come and go - like a friend visits and connects to your WiFi?
If so, there is an issue with some routers assigning the same IP to different devices and that will kick you off from time to time.
Resetting the router with both devices in the house will solve it. Happened to me when my Daughter visited and I connected her to my router. I kept loosing the WiFi. Then all was good after a router reboot. :)

Hit command-j at the desktop and you'll get something that looks like this. Check 'Show Item Info' and you're good to go. :)

While it is true that people can put themselves at a higher risk through certain activities, for a politician to blame a young girl for her own rape is absolutely disgusting. It's also nauseating and ignorant for politicians to suggest modest dress as a way to prevent rape. Such thinking is completely backward.
What's next from the conservative right? Sharia-style morality codes? Hmmm? You know, if women were always accompanied by male chaperones, many rapes could be prevented...

Interesting that you had problems with your cds. Usually I never encountered such a thing. I take care of them but not spend too much time worrying about it. Lots of my work are backed up on cd's and dvds as early as the 90's.
same here, i just finished moving everything off CD-R, some as old as '97 to DVD-R, DVD-R DL. i figure it's a few years before i start moving everything off the DVD's and onto my new GREEN-RAY burner, cause those 100TB GR-R discs will be bleading edge yo.

I think you can only do that in Text Mode with iChat AV. Audio and Video Modes are for 1-to-1 connections only.

If she was sleeping at your place I would to what my parents told us when I was living there. They said you can sleep together but please try not to have sex. Even though they both knew we were sexually active. We still did every once in a while but seldom and kept it very low key as to "not get caught".
Later when I was older I asked them about it and told them we did (this is years later and my parents are really cool). They told me the figured we would anyway. They just said it so that we wouldn't make it obvious. I believe their words contained the phrase "ignorance is bliss".

Add 'Paper Boy', 'Crystal Castles', and '720' I would be a happy camper.
Crystal Castles is in there (but tough to play with the faux track-ball).
Paper Boy would be cool, especially if they used the iPad gyro's as the controller!
In fact Star Wars arcade (and any of the Atari arcaded games that used that flight-yoke looking controller) using the gyro's would be awesome too. Road Blasters, Star Wars ROTJ both used it I think.

I'm 9% through my first task running on a single core. (I'll figure out how to use more cores later...)
You'll have to speed up your CPU more (ie overclock) in order to deliver results faster and get a higher PPD rating.
Also, which client did you download or are you using the Command Prompt? If you are using the command prompt, write the following:
-smp 6 -bigadv -verbosity 9 -local
This will dedicate 6 of your 8 threads to the Folding. Editing how many threads you dedicate can be done by upping or lowering the number after -smp

Have you repaired permissions with disk utility? I've never experienced this problem before, you may have to reload the OS (archive and install).

That was the date I joined over 3 years ago now. An interesting point is that my 3 years is marked by the same day that Steve will keynote at MWSF, kinda eerie.

No, beeing synced/registered using a Mac or another computer has nothing to do with it.
It should be recognized anywhere as long as you have the latest itunes version installed.

The current model that the MPAA and the RIAA are trying to preserve is simply irrelevent with the advent of digital media as a realistic and easily obtainable alternative. They had a chance to embrace it and make serious changes to the way they do things (i.e. find some way to deliver content at essentially no cost to the consumer but still turn a profit through ads and other sponsorship, which would work because the cost of producing the content is decreasing really quickly) but they chose to fight it and they can't win. The iTS is a compromise between the two, but I'll stick to free media and pay to go to concerts for bands I like and see some movies in the theatres.

As it seems that Tweetie will never re-implement the old RT style, I've been playing with a few other apps. I don't mind paying for apps that give me what I'm looking for. I cross my fingers for an update but I doubt I will ever pay for another app from Loren. Unfortunate since it was my favorite app until the last update. I paid for it twice and recommended it to so many people. The RT style is a big deal to me. Sorry. His unwillingness to listen to users that paid for his app really bothers me.
Twittelator is feature packed but maybe too much so? There's a lot of control over the look but it just always feels cluttered to me.
Simplytweet is also a pretty good app but a bit outdated as they haven't updated in a while with the new features. But it's a nice simple app with Push. The dev is working on a new app and I'm really looking forward to it. I got this for free when it was first released and I'd be willing to pay for the new app if it looks good.
Twitbird Pro is another one I got for free when it was first released and I've started using it again since the last update. It rocks my socks! I've not paid for the push feature but I really don't need it since I get an SMS when I get DM's and check it often enough. lol. I love the themes and how you can change the background image. It has all the features I want and none of that extra crap no one uses. Who the hell cares about Favstar????
